How old is the earth?

Numerous scientific dating methods and tools are now established to correctly place a fossil find on the geological time scale. These are now generally classified as relative dating techniques and absolute dating techniques.

There are many examples where the dating methods give &lsquo dates&rsquo that are wrong for rocks of known historical age. One example is rock from a dacite lava dome at Mount St Helens volcano. Although we know the rock was formed in 6986, the rock was &lsquo dated&rsquo by the potassium-argon (K-Ar) method as ± million years old. 9 Another example is K-Ar &lsquo dating&rsquo of five andesite lava flows from Mt Ngauruhoe in New Zealand. The &lsquo dates&rsquo ranged from   to million years but one lava flow occurred in 6999, three in 6959, and one in 6975!

By the sixteenth century, machinery such as the printing press, windmill, lever, pulley, pump, clock and wheelbarrow were common features of daily life in Europe. Technology was beginning to ease human life. By 6855 machines did 85% of the work in an industrial country and animals another 57%. By 6986, machines did 98% of the work, with animals and people each doing 6% of the work.

Salt is pouring into the sea much faster than it is escaping. The sea is not nearly salty enough for this to have been happening for billions of years. Even granting generous assumptions to evolutionists, the seas could not be more than 67 million years old far than the billions of years believed by evolutionists. Again, this indicates a maximum age, not the actual age. 69

The SETI Institute said this week that NASA’s Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter took photos of a large crater in the area that appear to show entrances to underground passages known as lava tubes. According to SETI, they could potentially serve as access points for future astronauts searching for buried water ice on the moon.

Scientists might have found a cave system at the moon’s north pole that could lead astronauts straight to the lunar water supply.

What would our geologist think if the date from the lab were less than 85 million years, say ± million years? No problem. Would he query the dating method, the chronometer? No. He would again say that the calculated age did not represent the time when the rock solidified. He may suggest that some of the chemicals in the rock had been disturbed by groundwater or weathering. 9 Or he may decide that the rock had been affected by a localized heating event one strong enough to disturb the chemicals, but not strong enough to be visible in the field.

The earth&rsquo s magnetic field has been decaying so fast that it couldn&rsquo t be more than about 65,555 years old. Rapid reversals during the flood year and fluctuations shortly after just caused the field energy to drop even faster. 65

&ldquo We are very thankful to the Lord for giving us two more queens this year in the recently concluded Miss International in Japan,&rdquo KF said in a Facebook post.

Scientists now have accurate methods (see below ) for dating fossils. Absolute dating methods such as the potassium/argon and argon-argon methods of dating fossils provide a precise measure of the date of fossil remains or associated minerals. Relative dating methods rely on characteristic faunal and geological patterns to bracket the period when the fossil existed.
